جميع تعاريف مادة القصة القصيرة وكتابة المقال el 121 لطلاب اللغة الانجليزية

1-Allusion: a reference taken from literature ,religion, history or any other field in order to draw attention to a certain idea
2-Antagonist: the main character's rival in a drama or narrative.
3-Character: a personality in fiction or drama
4-Climax: the highest point of action in the plot of a story.
5-Conflict : the problem faced by any character in a story .
6-Conflict: a problem or struggle faced by a character in a story .
7-Direct characterization :the reader is told directly what a character is like .
8-Drama:a piece of writing in verse or prose that represents life or character through action and dialogue.
9-Dynamic character :a character that changes during the course of the story .
11-Epiphany: a moment in the story where the character realizes a truth, becomes aware of something .
12-Episodic: a style of a plot which presents events as a series of incidents that are not connected to each other 13-Exposition: background information in a story .
14-Fairy tale: a simple story that deals with supernatural being .
15-Falling action: the action that comes after the climax.
16-Fantasy: a kind of writing which emphasizes unreal events that cannot happen in real life
17-fiction:a kind of writing that is based on imagined rather than factual events .
18-First person point of view : a narrator who uses the pronoun (I) and is a character in the story
19-Flashback: a technique by which the reader is taken back to an event from the past.
Flat character :a character that is fixed , not change or develop .
20-Foreshadow: a technique in which words or phrases are used to indicate or suggest that something will happen before it actually does
21-Genre:a type of literature , such as poetry,drama and fiction .
22-Image : a figure of speech in which an object is used to evoke one or more of the senses .
23-Impressionism: a kind of writing which evokes senses and feeling rather than an objective reality.

24-Irony: a technique which emphasises a gap between reality and appearance.
25-Naturalism: a kind of writing which depicts reality very closely and emphasizes the effects of the environment and heredity on the individual.

26-Realism: a kind of writing which tries to reflect real life as it is .
27-Indirect characterization :the reader infers what a character is like based on the thoughts , action and speech .
28-Limited omniscient point of view : a narrator who uses third person pronouns and concentrates on one character in the story .
29-Main character : a character is an important personality in the story .

31-Minor character : a secondary character( not an important personality in the story) .

Motive : a recurring idea or them .

61-Symbolism: a technique whereby an object is used to represent a mood or an idea.

62-Short story : a brief fictional prose narrative that is much shorter than a novel .
63-Simbole : a figure of speech in which an object represent an idea .
64-Simile: a literary device in which 2 objects are compared using the words (like) or (as).
65-Static character : a character that does not change during the course of the story .
Stock character : a common character in fiction .
66-Surprise ending: an ending which the reader does not expect. (no clues are given).
67-Suspense: the act of waiting for something to happen.
68-Suspension of disbelief :a literary concept which describes the state whereby the reader is prepared to believe in the characters and events in a story.
69-Theme : the main idea in a story .
70-Third person Point of view : a narrator who uses third person pronouns and is not a character in the story .
71-Unreliable narrator : a narrator who speaks in either the firest person or third person and is mad , dishonest or deceived
